Advice to men

Today men can find life complex

when they’re around the fairer sex.

A word is often misconstrued

to hold the door considered rude.

But I don’t care if it’s passé

I love my girl the old fashioned way

I wouldn’t take an even bet

on just what is the etiquette

To give your seat would seem unwise

you feel she thinks you patronise.

But I’m not for that modern take

girls need love for heaven’s sake.

You think she smiles so you smile back

next thing you know she’s hit you, whack!

Potential error is immense

best you don’t tempt providence

The time has come to clarify

the rules that men and girls live by.

There must be a scribe with quill or pen

to write new rules for our ladies and men

To help them through this great morass

so that harmony can come to pass

But my lady and I will hold on fast

to old fashioned ways that’s seen love last.
